The 12 Month Policy

If you have a perfect driving record it may be in your best interest to lock in your rate with a twelve month policy.Insurance policies can be written with various policy term options such as one, three, six, and twelvemonth terms. There are pros and cons to the twelve month policy and your agent should help you to determine what the best option for you. If you have a violation that is going to be removed from your driving record within the next six months, then it is most likely in your best interest to purchase a six month California car insurance policy. When your policy renews in six months, it will renew without the violation being rated, as long as you don't receive other violations or accidents in that time, replacing the violation that you currently have. If you are one of the many drivers with a perfect driving record, you should choose to lock in the twelve month policy. Of course, accidents do happen. So, if you lock in a twelve month policy and are subsequently involved in an accident or get a moving violation, you will not see in increase in your rates until the renewal of the twelve month policy. The only con to the twelve month policy is that if the insurance company lowers their rates shortly after you purchase your policy you would not see the lower rate until renewal. Have one of our experienced agents review your policy.
